Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has said that any decision regarding restoration of NATO supply routes would be taken by parliament. Addressing a joint press conference with his German counterpart Dr Thomas diMaizierre on Tuesday, Mukhtar said NATO supplies would be restored soon. Answering a question regarding US drone strikes, he reiterated that the attacks were killing innocent people more than they killed terrorists. He said the drone strikes were harmful. He said that several issues between the US and Pakistan needed to be addressed. Speaking on the occasion, the Germen foreign minister said though his country was a member of NATO, it did not take part in the attack on Pakistani checkposts in Salala that killed 26 Pakistani soldiers.
