At least three students and a policeman were injured in a clash between two student groups on Tuesday at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST). The clash between the two groups, affiliated with political parties, erupted at the Gulshan campus of the university over an argument over hoisting of party flags in the campus. Panic spread in the campus vehicular traffic on the Main University Road came to a halt when the groups opened fire on each other. The university’s administration called the police and Rangers to bring the situation under control. However, no student was arrested. The university postponed its examinations that were scheduled to be held on Tuesday. A day earlier, five people were injured in a clash between student groups at the University of Karachi campus as well.
