Moderate tremor felt in northwest Pakistan

Panic gripped most parts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday when a mild tremor shook the province for few seconds, sending frightened people running out of homes.
The earthquake was recorded 5.3 Magnitude on the Richter scale, the Metrological department said, adding that the shocks lasted for three seconds.
The tremors were felt in Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Abbottabad, Gilgit and other areas of KP at around 11.30 am as anxious people rushed out of their houses fearing a major earthquake to follow.
However, 3.9 Magnitude aftershocks followed the quake, with no report of damages.
Met office says northwest Kashmir area near Gilgit was epicenter of the quake.
