Nayyar Bukhari named Chairman, Sabir Baloch Deputy

A meeting of heads of allied parties was held in the Presidency Saturday night with Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Spokesperson to the President Mr Farhatullah Babar said that the PPP Co-Chairman welcomed the allied parties to the meeting and said that the PPP wished to nominate Senator Nayyer Hossain Bokhari for the slot of the Chairman and Senator Sabir Baloch from Balochistan for the slot of Deputy Chairman Senate.
The President urged the coalition partners to support the PPP in electing its nominees for the offices of Chairman and Deputy Chairman for which elections will be held on Monday March 12.
All the allied parties attending the meeting endorsed the suggestion of the President and said that they would support the PPP nominees for these slots. They also facilitated Nayyar Bukhari who was present in the meeting on his nomination to contest for the office of Chairman Senate.
The allied parties leaders also expressed the hope that both Nayyer Bokhari and Sabir Baloch will be elected unopposed as Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively.
The President thanked the allied parties for endorsing the PPP nominees. Senator Nayyar Bukhari also thanked the PPP Co Chairman President Asif Zardari for nominating him to the slot of Chairman Senate and all the allied parties for endorsing his nomination. He said that he will discharge his responsibilities to the best of his abilities and in the best parliamentary traditions.
The meeting also took stock of the latest political situation including the forthcoming address of the President to the Parliament.
The meeting was attended by Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Mr. Asfandyar Wali Khan, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Senator Babar Khan Ghauri, Senator Tahir Mashhadi, Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri, Mr. Munir Khan Orakzai and Engr Shaukat Ullah.
PPP leaders, Syed Khurshid Shah, Senator Nayyar Hussain Bukhari , Leader of House in Senate, Raja Pervez Ashraf, MNA and Spokesperson to the President Mr. Farhatullah Babar were also present during the meeting.
