CCPO in search for a drug free Lahore

LAHORE – On the directions of the Punjab chief minister, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen has launched the Lahore Drug Free City Project in his capacity as its chairman, and has ordered immediate crackdown on all drug peddlers throughout the city.
CCPO said drug peddlers and dealers not only affected the targeted individuals but their families as well. CCPO ordered the Lahore Police to take stern action against such drug peddlers so Lahore could be made a drug free city. CCPO warned that quick eradication of drug dens in the city should be ensured, otherwise six police teams, formulated by the CCPO, will arbitrarily raid the city and take the gangs to task. He said no country could progress without the establishment of ethical values among the youth and for the matter parents and educational institutions had to do their job, also in keeping the youth away from drugs.
CCPO called upon all divisional SPs to launch a city-wide crackdown against drug dealers and peddlers, keeping a close liaison with the notables of the area to make Lahore Drug Free City Project a success.
