PU to hold national conference on security challenges for Pakistan

The Punjab University Departments of Political Science and Center for South Asian Studies to organise a national conference on “Pakistan’s Internal and External Security: Challenges and Options” at the auditorium of Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Center for South Asian Studies, at 09.30am on 8th March (today), Thursday. PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will be the chief guest while Consulate General of Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore Hussain Bani Asadi will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
Punjab University Department of Gender Studies will also celebrate International Women’s Day on today. To highlight the importance of the day, the department has been organising a series of activities during the month of March for the last two years. In the current year to keep the tradition alive, the department has started activities like debates, poster competition 2012 and a walk on 8th March followed by Women’s Day Gala and prize distribution ceremony. The walk will start from the department at 8.45am sharp to the Vice-Chancellor’s office, where the PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid would participate in the walk.
