Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Balour has spoiled the dreams of Railways Assistant General Manager (Traffic) Junaid Salim, as retiring Railways General Manager Saeed Akhtar has been given an extension blocking Salim’s way to hold the top office. Salim, who reportedly celebrated his promotion by distributing sweets among officials and friends on Monday, had to face great disappointment when the minister awarded a year’s extension to Akhtar. Sources alleged that despite the fact that railways was in shambles due to mismanagement, Bilour promoted nepotism by giving an undue favour to the general manager. Akhtar had completed his tenure on Monday but for some obvious reasons he managed to secure a year’s extension.
