Court marshal proceedings against Brig Ali Khan were stopped temporarily and a doctor was called in after his health
deteriorated during the trail on Wednesday.
Brig Khan and four other officers were detained in May, 2011 for suspected links to Hizbut Tahrir. He was working at the army’s headquarters in Rawalpindi at the time of his arrest.
Sources said that an officer equivalent to the rank of major general was heading the proceedings when Brig Khan’s health worsened.
Colonel (R) Inamur Raheem, the counsel for Brig Ali Khan, expressed his concerns over the health of the former army officer.
He alleged that the army had not followed the orders of the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) which had directed the army to provide Brig Ali Khan a physician of his choice.
Mehr Khan, father of Ali Khan, had written a letter last month to the government, requesting it to hold an inquiry into his son’s arrest and direct the concerned authorities to release him.
The letter written on Feb 11 to Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi expressed concerns for Brig Ali Khan’s life.The letter further indicated that he suffered a heart attack and alleged that he was not given proper medical treatment.

Do you people know who Brig Ali Khan is ? Actually, no one has any idea how great this person is! I am Not talking in the context of “establishment of Caliphate”. He is the one who always speak the truth, he is the one who always wanted to deliver the best in his professional career not to himself but for the people of Pakistan. He graduated and topped the NDU Washington course! He is the first one in the army who wrote a letter to President Musharaf that his decision of invasion of Afghanistan will create trouble for the country. He questioned the Chief of Army Staff for not compliance with his duty — The security of Pakistan.
We the people of Pakistan are in illusions. We believe in things, which we don’t bother to research and enquire! We have a stereotype mentality where we don’t differentiate what is right and what is wrong!
In fact we are in habit of punishing our hereos. I know we all are stuck in the traditional society, where questioning the authority has been abandoned. But at least don’t assassinate someone’s character, and years of hardwork.
Dr. M. M. Khan why don’t you research on his life and write an article or raise a voice if you find him not guilty ?

I am indeed very gratful to you for supplying the c.v. of your hero. I did not know that Muaharraf had invaded Afghanistan! As far as the verdict is concerned the officer is innocent unless proved otherwise. I always thought that army did not wash its dirty linen public. One can disagree and resign in protest. My observations are based on the information supplied through the media. I still belive the means he was planing were wrong. But thank you for making me wiser.
