CJP concerned over Balochistan situation

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry Wednesday said the bodies were being found from Balochistan on daily basis from Balochistan and the people hailing from the forces were also being killed in the province.
Hearing a case regarding the law and order situation in the province, he wondered as to why the Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani did not take interest to make improvement in the circumstances in his province.
The Chief Justice Chaudhry said some areas including Makran and Khuzdar were the worst hit, adding the trains ply by daylight.
Justice Khilji Arif Hussain remarked everyone was sleepless; but, the ones who are responsible to rise to the occasion, were comforting.
The Chief Justice Chaudhry suggested that a jirga of all resented Baloch leaders including Ataullah Mengal and Khair Bux Mari should be called to tackle the situation.
One of the amicus curiae Amirul Mulk said no concrete step was taken up by the provincial or federal government, adding there was no more writ of the government in the province with criminal elements on leash.
