In order to halt encroachment and illegal construction on state land near Sangjani village, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has imposed section 144 in Zone (III) of the federal capital.
Assistant Commissioner Saddar Omar Asad on Saturday imposed Section 144 for two months. He said it had come to his knowledge that some persons were attempting to occupy and encroach upon state land in village Sangjani, Zone 3.
He said that under Section 144, construction on the said land had been prohibited. He said, “Any person encroaching upon, occupying, demarcating, or entering with intention to encroach upon or occupy any portion of Khasra No 202, village Sangjani, Zone 3, Islamabad, except with the prior permission of the district collector, Islamabad, will be punished under the law. However, these restrictions would not apply to tenants or occupants in the register gardawari, or to officials of any government department in pursuit of their lawful duties.”
