A man gunned down his aunt over a property dispute and fled from the scene here in the wee hours of Saturday. According to the police, accused Sheraz, was in dispute with his aunt residing in Model Town Extension Lahore. On early Saturday, the accused visited the house of her aunt with the excuse that he wanted to apologise to her and fled after shooting her with pistol.
The dead body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem. The police said that the accused had contacts with gangsters and that a case had been registered against him and the police had been raiding different localities to arrest him.
MANGA MANDI MYSTERY: A 50 year old man was gunned down by unidentified men in the jurisdiction of Manga Mandi police station on Saturday. According to the details, a man namely Muhmmad Ashraf, 50 was a worker at a kiln owned by Muhmmad Jahangir in Manga Mandi. The police said that Ashraf was walking home after his work late at night when two unidentified men opened fire on him and that Ashraf had expired on the spot. The body of the deceased was shifted to the Mayo Hospital morgue, while a case has been registered against unidentified men in the Manga Mandi police station.
DEATH AFTER 15 DAYS: A man injured in an accident fifteen days back died in hospital on Saturday. Police official said that a sixty year old man was injured on February 17 after he was run over by an over-speeding vehicle in front of the Panorama Centre on the Mall Road. They said that he was moved to Services Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. They said that announcements had been made in the area to identify the body but were of no avail. They informed that the body had been sent to the morgue.
FIRE: A fire burnt valuables worth thousands of rupees in parts of city on Saturday. The firefighters told that a house at Sarwar Road Cantonment erupted in flames due to short circuiting. They said that the firefighters of CDGL and 1122 responded to the call and quickly controlled the flames.
They said that the furniture and electronic appliances worth sixty thousand rupees were destroyed in the flames. In another incident a warehouse at Bhatti chowk erupted in flames due to unknown reasons. It is said that fire burnt wood stock worth twenty thousand rupees in flames.
