The railway track linking Quetta with the rest of the country was blown up with explosives on Thursday night, suspending train service between the provincial capital and the rest of the country.
Railway officials said that unknown people had planted explosives along the railway track and blew it up. “As a result a three-feet long portion of the track was blown up in the blast,” police said, adding that after the blast the Quetta-bound Jaffar Express coming from Rawalpindi was stopped at Sariab Railway Station, while other trains were also stopped at different stations. They said the track would be reopened by Friday morning after repairs and security clearance.
