Lahore tighten hold in Punjab Sports Festival

The players from Lahore maintained their control in different events on the fourth day of Inter divisional Punjab Sports Festival being organized at different venues. Lahore which dominated karate event clinched gold medals in the sport and reached to the top in weightlifting and basketball too.
In weightlifting university male, Lahore got first position, Gujranwala secured second while Sargodha got third position. In general public basketball, Lahore scored first position while Faisalabad was second. In basketball boys college, Punjab College of Commerce Lahore scored 65 points with first position, Punjab College of Commerce Faisalabad got second position with 41 points. In university basketball boys, University of Central Punjab Lahore shone with 61 points and first position whereas Bahauddin Zakriya University Multan achieved second position.
In the general public final volleyball, Faisalabad defeated Sahiwal 3-1, Faisalabd was also victorious in the college boys semifinals beating Sahiwal 2-0 while Gujranwala beat Lahore 2-1.
On the other side, girls matches continued at various venues and in volleyball college semifinals, Rawalpindi beat Bahawalpur 3-0, Faisalabad thrashed Multan 3-0, Lahore beat Bahawalpur in the semifinals of university female volleyball.
Faisalabad outplayed Multan 3-0. In the hockey college male, Faisalabad beat Sahiwal 6-0. Gujranwala defeated Rawalpindi 2-1, DG Khan beat Rawalpindi 1-0, Bahawalpur thrashed Multan 5-1.
In the general public hockey, Faisalabad beat Sahiwal 5-1, Gujranwala outplayed Multan 2-0.
In the karate university girls events, 45 kgs, Madeeha Hussain of Lahore clinched gold medal, Masooma Ijaz of Faisalabad was second. In 50 kgs, Marium Lodhi of Lahore secured gold, Pamela of Faisalabad attained silver whereas in 50-plus kgs, Anza Tahir of Lahore got gold medal and Rubab of Gujranwala was second with silver medal.
In the boys university karate, Lahore dominated with gold medals. In 48 kgs, Waqas of Lahore was the winner, Sajjad Hussain of Bahawalpur was second with silver. In 55 kgs, Ayaz of Lahore got gold while Zulqurnain of Bahawalpur got silver. In 55-plus kgs, Shahid of Lahore attained gold and Mohammad Abbas of Sahiwal secured silver medals. Bahawalpur dominated with 13 points to win first position in university wrestling male competitions. Islamia College University of Bahawalpur shone with 2 gold and 1 silver to win the finals. Lahore attained second position with 11 points with 1 gold and 2 silver.
In college athletics, Tanveer Abbas of Sargodha was victorious in 100 m race, Tariq Mehmood of Lahore won 200 m, Mohammed Shahid of Gujranwala secured first position in 400 m, Zahid of Bahawalpur got position in 1500 m, Ehsan Ijaz of Faisalabad got first position in 800 m while in the long jump, Adnan of Lahore, in shot-put Mohammad Sajjad of Bahawalpur whereas in javelin throw, MOhammad Qasim of Lahore got first positions.
