George Clooney’s commitment to bachelorhood has long fuelled rumours that he might be gay. In an interview, George confronted the gossip with a sharp sense of humour that has become his trademark. “I think it’s funny,” said George. “But the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, ‘These are lies! I’m not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing.” George has been an activist for gay rights. “It’s always been this albatross that stood out to me as the final leg of the civil rights movement,” George said. “One day the marriage equality fight will look as archaic as George Wallace standing on the University of Alabama steps, keeping James Hook from attending college because he was black.” George Clooney is all set to perform along with Martin Sheen, Jamie Lee Curtis and George Takei in Dustin Lance Black’s stage play called 8. Black, who won an Academy Award for the ‘Milk’ screenplay, entered his new play around Proposition 8 of 2010.
