The Transition Committee formed for the transfer of Sheikh Zayed Hospital under Senator Ishaq Dar will meet up today (Thursday) to finalise the release of funds, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Per details, SZH administration had given a presentation to the health secretary about the financial needs and entire set up of the hospital earlier. Other issues regarding the establishment would also be resolved during today’s meeting. Sources privy to the development revealed that the main focus was going to be on finance as Rs 2.1 billion per annum proposed by the hospital will be approved by the government which will be released in instalments after every three months. They further said some amount had already been released. They further revealed that the government would prioritise the spending on different heads, which was not going to be much different from the previous model. They further said that the meeting will also take up and finalize all outstanding issues regarding the transfer of the hospital from the federal government.
The Transition Committee also has on board the health, finance and planning secretaries.
SZH Chairman Professor Zafar Iqbal said the government had already released some funds and has also promised to ensure the pay package and privileges to employees. He confirmed that the transition committee will meet to finalise the issue.
