Iman Qureshi on Sunday stunned national star Saba Aziz to win the title at City Sports Complex.
The 14-year-old Iman moved past Saba 7-5, 6-4 in the final to take the Subh-e-Nau ladies singles title. Iman, who is top ranked Asian under-14 player, displayed brilliant ground and across the court shots to overcome a strong opponent. Iman went into the first set even with Saba but Iman with her aggressive play closed the set 7-5. the second set was easy for Iman, who performed well in Syria, Burma ad Qatar, to win after she conceded for games.
It was Iman’s second national title after her first upset win over the national champion. Iman use her international experience to overcome the Pakistan number one Saba Aziz.
Iman beat national number 2 Sara Mahboob in the quarter-finals and later in the semi-final number 3 ranked Maheed Dada to take on Saba in th final.
