Misbah keeps positive frame of mind ahead of final T20

Pakistan skipper Misbahul Haq wants to forget the 38 runs defeat to England in the second Twenty20 match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday night and look forward positively toward the third and final Twenty20 match of the series to be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Gulf News quoted Misbah as saying: “Our main approach will be to forget the last game and think positively. We will play the game with a positive frame of mind as we want to win the match badly. I hope everyone will come with good performances in this match.” Misbah sportingly appreciated England’s Jonny Bairstow’s fine knock. “He (Bairstow) played really well especially at a time when England was in trouble after losing players like (Kevin) Pietersen and (Ravi) Bopara. I think his knock set the game for England and he looks a good player for this format of the game.” Misbah does not believe that the target of 150 was a tall order. “It was a gettable total though it was a fighting score provided one batted properly. Our batting disappointed us once again.” When asked why Pakistan’s batting is failing repeatedly, Misbah said: “When you keep on losing early wickets it is difficult to make up. We could not even get a good run rate in the first six overs and also lost lot of wickets. This has been our main problem. When you lose wickets and you are not getting the run rate up especially with the field restrictions it becomes very difficult to chase. Also, a total of 150 runs is almost eight an over.” Misbah still has faith in his team and is hoping that this team can take Pakistan forward.
“I think ours is a good team but our batting has not risen up to their potential. We are still carrying the bad form from the One day series. In Twenty20 and One day cricket or it is usually the batting that wins you the game and if your batting is not scoring even 150 runs then it is a problem.”
However, Misbah has no plans to bring about big changes in the eleven to play in the final Twenty20 match. “I don’t think there will be many changes. The team did well in the last match and today you saw Hammad Azam who played really well. It is a good team provided we improve our performance as a batting unit.”
