Expressing doubts over the statement of a police constable who claimed to present multiple evidence to Lahore for chemical examination, the defence lawyers on Saturday requested the court to direct the FIA to produce record of the Benazir Bhutto murder case.
ATC No 1 Judge Shahid Raffique on Saturday resumed hearing of the case. The defense lawyers also pleaded the court to bar the government from issuing distorted statements regarding the high-profile case outside the court.
Rao Abdur Raheem, defense lawyer, in his written application requested the court to direct the FIA to produce record before the court.
On this, the court adjourned the
haring till March 3, 2012, and directed the FIA to produce its investigation report before the court on the next date of hearing.
The lawyers pleaded that statement of police constable was not made part of the FIA investigation report. Therefore, he asked the court to order the FIA to provide the file to the court as it feared that investigation agency could temper the record.
