Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa said on Saturday that the young generation should equip itself with the latest knowledge in the field of science and technology to make Pakistan a prosperous and progressive country. He believed that education promised to be the only catalyst for change in the destiny of the nation. Punjab Governor said this while addressing the convocation of the University of Lahore.
OL Chairman Board of Governors Muhammad Abdul-Rauf, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Khosa said that 21stcentury was the century of knowledge. He also said that universities should act as drivers of change and added that the passage of the 18th amendment would ensure more fundamental rights to the masses including the right to education. He said the improvement of education at all levels must be a major priority for Pakistan as no country could progress without it. Governor said that the role of women especially female students was of vital importance in national development. He also said that the goal of rapid progress and prosperity of the country could be achieved via women empowerment.
