ICS bids farewell to Dr Mughees

Lahore – A seminar was organised at the Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies to bid farewell to the PU Dean Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences Prof Dr Mughees-uddin Sheikh, on Thursday. ICS Director Prof Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz said that ICS and Dr Mughees were ‘indispensable and correlative’.
Dr Amjad Islam Amjad, the chief guest, told the audience that Dr Mughees was a hard working and selfless man.
ABOUT DR MUGHEES: He has been awarded the Best University Teacher Award by the HEC and the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal for his achievements and services. Dr Mughees started his career in 1976 from Department of Mass Communication Gomal University as a lecturer. Later, he joined PU in 1982 and served for 28 years. He was appointed as chairman of the department in 2003. He converted the department into a high ranking institute in South Asia, modernized the curriculum and improved the standard of degree programs. He introduced BS 4-year program and masters program of film and TV production.
