Punjab won the Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup (First Class) 2011-12 defeating Sindh by 511 runs on fifth and final day of the match here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. Punjab playing first scored 496 and in response Sindh were all out 235 while in the second innings Punjab piled up 412 all out and Sindh were set to win 674 runs but they only managed 162 all out.
With the win, Punjab won a purse of Rs 10,00,000 while runners-up Sindh Rs 500,000. Aamir Sajjad of Punjab was declared the Man of the Match and got Rs 50,000. Best Batsman Yasir Hameed (KPK) 461 runs, Best Bowler Raza Hasan (Punjab) 26 wickets, Best Fielder Bazid Khan (Federal Area) and Wicketkeeper Muhammad Zohaib (Punjab) seven catches and all these players got Rs 50,000 each.
The prize distribution ceremony held after the match and former captain Imtiaz Ahmed was the chief guest of the event.
