IDWP approves 28 new development projects

The Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) on Thursday approved 27 new development projects for rural areas of Islamabad and one project of establishing courtrooms at F-8 Markaz and other allied facilities for the local judiciary.
The projects were approved in IDWP meeting held here on Thursday with Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq Mahmood Pirzada in the chair. The meeting was attended by Deputy Financial Advisor, Finance Division, Ashfaq Ahmed, Planning Commission, Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed, Director, Finance/Development Rana Akbar Hayat, Judicial officers Syed Musaffar Ali Shah, MIT, Islamabad High Court, Dist and Sessions Judge, Islamabad East Syed Kausar Abbas and others.
The development projects which were approved in the meeting include, development of roads and streets at Kirpa and adjoining Dhokes at the estimated cost of Rs52.168 million, construction of 6 kilometer road in union council Sohan (revised) at estimated cost of Rs40.942 million, construction of 7 kilometer road in union council Tarlai (revised) costing Rs47.766 million, widening and rehabilitation of Bhadan road at estimated cost of Rs51.742 million, rehabilitation and construction of 6 kilometer road in the rural area of NA-48, Islamabad at estimated cost of Rs52.444 million.
Whereas, widening and improvement of main Chirah and Patlari Moawa road ICT Islamabad has also been approved at the cost of Rs51.587 million, while widening and improvement of 5.5 kilometer road in union council Tumair and Kirpa have been approved at the cost of Rs50.474 million.
Addressing the participants of the meeting Chief Commissioner said that Islamabad Capital Territory has been divided into two Civil Districts and Sessions Divisions i.e Islamabad East and Islamabad West.
The meeting also approved a project costing Rs8.784 million relating to the establishment of court rooms, provision of furniture and other allied facilities in F-8 Markaz Islamabad for the newly established Sessions Division and Civil District, Islamabad East. The main objective of the projects is to increase the number of court rooms in F-8 Markaz Islamabad to facilitate the additional judges for hearing of the cases and provision of quick justice along with ensuring the safety and security of the premises.
