The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Wednesday condemned the US Congress resolution regarding Balochistan, declaring it as a conspiracy against Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity. Tabling the resolution, Senior Provincial Ministers Bashir Bilour and Rahimdad Khan and MPAs Javed Abbasi, Mufti Kafayatullah, Hafiz Akhtar Ali, Akram Durrani, Haji Qalandar Lodhi, Sikandar Sherpao and Abdul Sattar Khan, condemned use of objectionable and controversial words in the resolution such as ‘extra-judicial murders of Baloch’, and ‘ethnic discrimination of Baloch’. Declaring the resolution as an open interference in Pakistan’s affairs, they said that it was the US’ retaliation for forced evacuation of the Shamsi Airbase and suspension of the NATO/ISAF supplies. Supporting the resolution, JUI-F’s Kafayatullah said that the entire nation was paying for misdeeds of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf and said that despite the fact that the US and Afghanistan were the only countries involved in the Afghan war, Pakistan had suffered 40,000 casualties and losses worth $70 billion.
