Boy scouts celebrate founder’s day

The Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) celebrated the founder Baden Powel’s day on Wednesday in a ceremony organised at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE). According to the press release issued, a Ceremony for President’s Gold Medal Awardees (2003-2009) was held.
Federal Shariat Court Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmad and PBSA Chief Commissioner were the chief guests while FBISE Chairperson Dr Shaheen Khan, PBSA International Commissioner Cdr (Retd) Aftab A Qureshi, PBSA National Commissioner Syed Mahmood Hashmi, PBSA National Commissioner for Publication and Public Relations Syed Iqbal Shah and other Boy Scouts Association officials were also present on the occasion. Justice Rafiq Khan said the motto for the year 2012 is ‘Scouting-Education for Life’. He said: “We, the people of Pakistan are the messengers of peace and we have to disseminate this message to every corner of the country through scouts.” He also promised to give more opportunities to the girls interested in Scout activities.
