Police book over 200 protesters for attacking CDA men

The city police booked more than 200 people for attacking CDA officials and injuring them at the inaugural ceremony of Park Enclave Housing Scheme held on Monday. Shahazad Town police registered an FIR against six nominated and over 200 unidentified people for attacking the CDA chairman and damaging official vehicles.
According to details, as the CDA chairman and Prime Minister’s Task Force Chairman Faisal Sakhi Butt reached Park Road to inaugurate the housing project, hundreds of angry villagers ransacked the ceremony over nonpayment of compensation for their land. As the CDA chairman started his speech angry villagers pelted stones on the tent and ransacked furniture and food items, besides uprooting the canopy.
The CDA chairman and Prime Minister’s Task Force Chairman Faisal Sakhi Butt managed to escape along with other participants of the function from the backdoor.
The police, on the application of the CDA director enforcement, registered an FIR against more than 200 people, including Jameel Abbasi, Nazakat, Imran and Tariq Mahmood.
