The prices of onion and tomato witnessed a significant decrease at the Sunday bazaars of the city as compared to the previous week, but the rates of other vegetables witnessed a mixed trend. This Sunday, the price of tomato witnessed a decrease of Rs 12 per kg. This week tomato sold at Rs 36 against the previous week’s rate of Rs 48. Similarly, the price of onion also witnessed a decrease of Rs 6 per kg. This week onion sold at Rs 34 per kg whereas during the last Sunday it was available at Rs 40 per kg. However, the price of chicken witnessed an increase of Rs 15 per kg this week. According to the rate list, chicken sold at Rs 167 against the last Sunday’s price when it was available for Rs 152 per kg.
The prices of potato, garlic, ginger, pumpkin and bitter gourd remained stable. The prices of ladyfinger and black pepper witnessed an increase of Rs 20 per kg each. This week, both ladyfinger and black pepper sold at Rs 120 per kg each. The prices of green chili witnessed a slight decrease. Green chili sold at Rs 116 per kg against the last week’s price of Rs 120. This week lemon prices remained stable and sold at Rs 80 per kg. The prices of cauliflower witnessed an increase of Rs 2 per Kg while cabbage prices remained stable. According to the list, cauliflower sold at Rs 26 per kg and cabbage at Rs 20 per kg.
The prices of most of fruits remained stable. Apple (kalani) sold at Rs 150 per kg, apple (golden) Rs 120 and apple (China) at Rs 120. Banana sold at Rs 70 per dozen with an increase of Rs 10. Last Sunday, banana sold at Rs 60 per dozen. Similarly, kino sold at Rs 60 and orange at Rs 80 per dozen.
