The Abbottabad Commission has started the process of finalizing its report regarding American incursion in Abbottabad on May 02 that killed Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.
Sources informed that the investigations of the Abbottabad Commission were in its final stages, and the commmission has begun piecing together its final findings.
The Commission is said to have completed the statements of CDA chairman and IG Islamabad, while it had also summoned interior minister Rehman Malik, who had earlier excused himself from appearance before commission on 15th Feb over official reasons. Rehman Malik has now been directed by Commission to appear on 23rd Feb.
Meanwhile, following recordings of the statements by high ranking bureaucrats and Army’s top brass, the Commission had also sent its questionnaire to CIA, which has gone unanswered.
It is pertinent to note that after American incursion into Abbottabad on 02nd May, the government had formed a high level 4-member probe Committee, headed by former Judge of Supreme Court, Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, which also included Lt. Gen (Retd) Nadeem Ahmad, Abbas Khan, and Ashraf Jehangir Qazi.
