Brutally raped and disabled for the rest of her life, Kosar Bibi has filed a petition seeking the cancellation of bail of her four rapists and a woman, their accomplice, which was marked to the Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Ramzan by D&S Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem Ahmed. Kosar’s counsel, Advocate Mirza Shoukat, asked for the cancellation of bails of accused woman Shehbaz Bibi, Abdul Shakoor, Haider, Jamshaid and Javed contending that they had hired her as a maid in Makkah Colony area of Lahore and had then held her hostage, subjected her to gang rape and had broken her legs at her refusal to run a prostitution business for them.
Kosar was brought to the court on a wheel chair. According to an FIR that was registered by the Naseerabad Police against the four alleged rapists and their accomplice under sections 496/A and 376 of Pakistan Penal Code, Kosar had contended that Shehnaz had promised to provide her with a job. She had taken her to a house in Makkah Colony where she was held hostage and raped repeatedly for two years. “They forcefully took my thumb impression on a ‘nikah nama’ and I was raped brutally and they smashed my kneecaps so I was unable to move,” Kosar contended, adding that they refused to let her go and wanted her to run a prostitution business for them. “People gathered around after they heard me screaming,” she said, adding “Even though an FIR was registered against them, they kidnapped me again with the connivance of the police and forced me to record a statement so that they could be released on bail.” She prayed to the court to cancel the bails and to bring the accused to book.
