The traditional jirga of Turi tribe held the administration responsible for security forces’ firing on innocent volunteers who were engaged in rescue activities following Friday’s suicide attack in Kurram Agency.
The jirga held at Parachinar on Saturday demanded the government take stern action against the responsible personnel of security forces as well as officials occupying important offices in the administration.
Similarly, the jirga declared Taliban commander Fazal Saeed an enemy of all those who had lost their near and dear ones in the tragic bomb explosion.
Reports from Parachinar said the death toll in Friday’s suicide explosion and security forces’ firing had risen to 36.
Sabir Hussain, an elder of the Turi tribe told Pakistan Today that four people were killed and 12 others injured when personnel of security forces opened firing on civilians engaged in rescue activities.
So far, 28 injured were still in hospitals, while a number of injured had been discharged after first aid.
The funerals of deceased were in Parachinar and its surrounding areas, as the town observed a complete shutter-down strike to mourn the incident
“The suicide explosion and security forces’ firing against volunteers would not affect the recent peace agreement with the Sunni community,” remarked Sabir Hussain, adding that “we pray for peace every time”.
“We are determined to take revenge of this tragic terrorist act from Fazal Saeed and his relatives,” the jirga elders said. Meanwhile, the security forces claimed apprehending two Afghan suicide bombers during a raid in Thall town of Hangu district, adjacent to Kurram Agency.
The officials said a large quantity of arms and suicide jackets were recovered from the possession of the terrorists.
