Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s lawyer Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Thursday said his client will not seek clemency from President Asif Zardari if the Supreme Court did convict him in the contempt of court case. Speaking in an Express News talk show, Aitzaz said even if the Supreme Court declared the prime minister guilty of contempt, it might not cause Gilani’s ouster from office, as he could only be disqualified by the National Assembly speaker.
Aitzaz made it clear that whether a letter was written to the Swiss authorities or not, bringing back the money from Swiss banks was not possible.
