Man ends daughter’s illicit affair with bullet blitz

A man shot dead his daughter’s paramour Waseem, 32, Ferozwala resident and injured his daughter, Shumaila Ammanat, in the name of honour in the Baghbanpura Police Area on Thursday. Police found out that Shumaila and Waseem had had an illicit relationship over the past few years and this had forced Shumaila’s father Ammanat to leave his native place in Ferozewala and move to Ahmed Town, Lahore some three years back. Ammanat also wedded Shumaila with one Imran but she had kept on contacting Waseem and had gone as far as eloping with him for a week or two.
About 22 days ago Shumaila again left her home along with Waseem. On Thursday both of them visited her house in order to collect some clothes where they had to bear the brunt of the father’s antagonism, who opened a blitz of fire on them. As a result Shumaila and Waseem sustained serious wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital where the latter succumbed to injuries while Shumaila was said to be in a critical condition.
Police after reaching the scene removed the body of the victim to the morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Ammanat, who appeared before the police along with the weapon in question and surrendered himself.
CUT THROAT ENMITY: Unknown killers slaughtered Muhammad Afzal, 33, resident of Peco Road inside his house in the Badamai Bagh Police Area. The police said that the victim was a Hakeem and was living at the said place along with his family. On Thursday, he was found lying dead on his bed with his throat cut when his wife entered his room to bring in breakfast. Afzal’s wife informed locals and police, who after reaching the scene removed the corpse to the morgue for autopsy and started investigating the matter. Police investigators believed that the victim was killed over old enmity. Sources in police, however, claimed that police were also investigating the prospect of a failed robbery bid.
POISONED TO DEATH: Ghulam Nabi, 45, Bhaati Chowk resident, died under mysterious circumstances in the Bhaati Gate Police Area on Thursday. The police said that he was found lying in a state of unconsciousness and that locals informed rescue officials, who after reaching the scene rushed him to the Mayo Hospital where he died. Police suspected that he died owing to poisonous food and said that they were trying to contact his relatives and would take action according to their complaint.
HEART ATTACK: A 75-years-old unidentified woman, who was found unconscious from a park near Bhatti Chowk died in a local hospital owing to a heart attack on Thursday. The police removed her body to the morgue and started the search for her heirs.
MOTORCYLE RAMS INTO WARDEN: A traffic warden and a motorcyclist sustained injuries when the former rammed into the latter in the Ghalib Market Police Area on Thursday. As per details traffic warden Rana Muhammad Akbar was on duty near FC college underpass when suddenly a motorcyclist Khan lost control over his bike and collided with him. As a result both sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical aid where doctors declared them as stable.
