Lack of sewerage system has posed serious health hazards to the residents of Sadiq Abad. The recent rains have turned the area into small ponds of filthy water and they have become breeding places for mosquitoes. Dengue fever season is ahead and we fear these ponds will turn into death traps for us and we will have to either shift from this area or have to fall victim to this fatal disease, a local resident said, adding our elected representatives were not paying any heed towards a proper sewerage system. The manholes were lying open and filth and excrement continued to gush out the whole day long but the respective department was indifferent to such happenings, he complained.
