Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said on Monday that any decision on Pak-US relations would be made by the Parliament.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Shahbaz Airbase in Jacobabad, Air Chief Rao Qamar Suleman said Shahbaz Airbase was in complete control of Pakistan Air Force.
Kayani said the government policy on US-Pakistan relations was quite clear added that ties with NATO and US lies with the Parliament.
He also said the Parliamentary committee would decide when to resume supplies to NATO troops in Afghanistan. He said addition of new F-16 fighter jets would boost national defence. He said further that the use of air force in FATA operation against militants was being limited.

  1. That's good. If military accepts supremacy of the parliament and stop acting like a God father things will become better.

    • You are a very bitter man Mr Qaboolpuria.

May I say that this is job of the Prime Minister to give a clear policy and ask for a vote from the parliament in an open vote without the fears of the party whip. We in the UK did not want to go to war in Iraq. Mr Blair the Prime Minister asked for a vote of the parliament. Labour Party was opposed to war and the majority of the Labour MPs were against the war. In an open vote the conservative Party along with the minority labour MPs supported the vote of going to War on Iraq and hence it was carried through.

Blair is hated in Britain and was not able to even attend the book signing ceremony of his own book.

Your Prime Minster is fighting for its existence; he has practically done nothing than to save a President who has international record of wrong doings.

Wake up Mr Puria and smell the coffee.

  2. What America and NATO now doing to Pakistan has been the basis of US foreign policy for decades..the policy of "divide and conquer", funding and arming opposing sides to cause civil war, chaos and bloodshed and thus to weaken and break down a country for geopolitical control of the region and control of a country's resources. It is established CIA strategy to create and back radical militant groups, at the same time pretending "friendship" against a "common enemy" by donating money and arms to fight those same militants, with the goal of taking over after the country has been thoroughly divided and destroyed.

  3. Another favorite US tactic to weaken a country is isolate it with brutal sanctions along with a steady stream of propaganda to demonize and stereotype it. The US/NATO have installed puppet government tyrants, an army of contractors and mercenaries in gated communities and an opium economy to impoverish and oppress the entire Afghan population. If Pakistan does not want to experience the same, it will restore its integrity and fire any of its officials taking US bribes, protect its airspace by shooting down all child killing drones (Pakistan is fully within its rights to do so, those drones are illegal and Pakistan has the air force to do it), block all NATO transports by sea or by air, kick out every last presence of US/NATO bases/contractor mercenaries/CIA from its country, and form military and trade pacts with friendly countries, such as Turkey, Russia, China and eventually form an alliance with Afghanistan once the occupiers have been booted out from that region.
