The Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) have prepared new electoral rolls to hold bye-elections in 10 constituencies. The bye-elections in 10 constituencies were scheduled to be held on February 25. In the ECP’s meeting held on Thursday with the chief election commissioner (CEC) in the chair, NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik said that electoral rolls of 10 constituencies had been provided to the ECP. He said that scanning and data entry of 85 million voters had also been completed and now printing was going to start. The issue of giving voting rights to overseas Pakistanis was discussed and it was decided that the ECP will hold a meeting on February 14 with UNDP and IFES experts to finalise the modus operendi. To check election expenses by candidates during the campaign, the ECP decided to jointly work with FBR. The statistics secretary said that a notification to freeze the numbers of census block will be issued today (Friday).
