The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain with snow on hilly areas in different parts of the country by Saturday, due to which the cold wave would persist for a few more days, especially in Sindh, including Karachi. In a fresh advisory issued on Thursday, the PMD said another westerly wave is heading towards Pakistan and is likely to enter Balochistan on Saturday evening.
Under the influence of this weather system, scattered rain with snow on hilly areas is expected in Northeast Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Sunday, said the PMD. The department also said more snowfall is also expected in Murree and Galiyat on Sunday and Monday, whereas the prevailing cold wave in most parts of the country, particularly in Sindh, is likely to subside during the next weekend.
