LPG prices decreased by Rs 10 per kg

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of LPG by Rs 10 per kilogram with immediate effect.An announcement by OGRA on Thursday said that under the revised rates, the cost of a domestic cylinder would come down by Rs 110 and Commercial cylinder by Rs 400.

Irfan Khokhar said that they had given a strike call after increase of Rs 16 per kg in LPG cost. He claimed that the prices have been reduced due to pressure of the distributors. He said the distributors and the consumers cannot afford any more increase in its cost.
On the other hand the Lahore High Court has issued notices and summoned the Deputy Attorney General and Secretary Petroleum on 27th February over levy of Petroleum surcharge on LPG.
As LHC’s justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah began hearing of the petition, owners of various companies pleaded that the government had imposed LPG petroleum surcharge resulting in increase in the prices of the commodity. They said as a result the consumers were suffering and appealed the court to issue a stay order.
The court accepted the application for hearing and issued notices to the parties concerned.
