Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hasan on Tuesday called for postponing the Senate elections until general elections are held according to the new voter lists. He was talking to various delegations at Mansoora. Munawar said that the present assemblies were elected on bogus electoral lists and had no right to elect senators. The JI chief said that the term of assemblies was about to expire and senators should be elected by those legislators, who enjoyed public confidence. He said that after confirmation of the Election Commission and NADRA that voter lists included 35 million bogus votes, neither the present assemblies nor the president, PM, CMs and the federal and provincial cabinets had any moral ground to claim themselves as elected.
