Ali Saeedlou, Deputy President of Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by his entourage, visited Pakistan Monument Museum here at Shakarparian working under the aegis of Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage).
On arrival, the distinguished guest was received by Khalid Javaid, Executive Director Lok Virsa and briefed him about the culture of Pakistan with special reference to the functioning of Lok Virsa and Pakistan Monument Museum. He also shed light on the significance of Pakistan’s historical and cultural relations with brotherly Muslim country Iran.
The delegation was taken around three dimensional creative dioramas at the Monument Museum. Dedicated to those who sacrificed their today for a better tomorrow, the museum depicts history, struggle for freedom, emergence and development of Pakistan.
The museum also presents key achievements of the country after independence, particularly in the field of culture, tourism, education, defence, communication, science and technology, sports, industries, women development and other important and diverse sectors of national life. Here one can also see glimpses of meritorious services rendered by the founder of Pakistan, Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, national poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal and a number of other national heroes and freedom fighters. The Iranian deputy president appreciated the contribution of Lok Virsa in documenting and projecting Pakistan’s history and cultural importance in such a beautiful manner.
