Apparently Abhishek Bachchan has been dropped from the Tips film being directed by Mohit Suri following the ‘Players’ debacle. Director Mohit Suri was to make his first film outside the Bhatt banner with Tips and the film was supposed to star Abhishek Bachchan and Fardeen Khan in lead roles. However things seem to have changed in recent times. Buzz is that after the poor performance of the mega-budget multi-starrer ‘Players’, the makers were wary of casting Abhishek Bachchan. An industry insider reveals, “Amongst the star-studded cast of Players, Abhishek Bachchan clearly was the lead. The dismal performance of the film has largely affected his standing. Soon after the box-office fate of ‘Players’ was out, Tips were against the idea of having Abhishek Bachchan play the lead in their film.” The makers however would want to maintain that Abhishek was only considered and never finalised for the film. Abhishek Bachchan’s last few films including ‘Game, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ and ‘Raavan’ were box-office disasters. It’s time he ‘gets idea’ of the situation and plays his cards well.
