The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have launched a special campaign to create awareness among road users about the traffic rules. All officials of the ITP including SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood are engaged in the campaign which has been launched in collaboration with Atlas Honda. They gave tips to road users about the safe road environment. SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood along with representatives of Atlas Honda Safety and Customer Care Manager Tasleem Shuja distributed flowers and brochures among the citizens.
Dr Moeen Masood said the traffic police were doing its best to check the traffic violations and create awareness among the citizens about traffic rules. He said over speeding, jumping red signals and ignoring pedestrian rights were the main violations committed by the road users. The SSP said one should take care of the rights of others in a civilised society as this basic principle can ensure safe road environment in the city. He hoped the campaign would bring fruitful results and urged the citizens for their cooperation in making it a successful activity.
The police should also be launching campaigns to create awareness within the public regarding improvised explosive devices. The public should be sensitized of how to identify IEDs and what should be the appropriate response.
