Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday paid a surprise visit at Services Hospital to personally observe the situation.
During his visit Mian Shahbaz Sharif inquired about the health of under treatment patients due to reaction of contaminated cardiac drugs. He visited the wards to get first hand information whether the medicines reaction affected patients were being given adequate treatment or not.
Shahbaz asked the ailing patients about treatment facilities provided to them and wished them early recovery and good health in future. He directed the hospital administration to ensure best treatment for the patients free of charges.
The doctors briefed the chief minister that anti-dote (Folic acid) treatment has shown excellent results and patients were returning to health.
Later, while talking to media persons, Shahbaz Sharif said that providing basic facilities, including free of cost treatment, education as well as other facilities, to the people was the top priority of PML-N provincial government, adding that no compromise would be made on issues of masses interests.
The chief minister showed concerns over the criticism of opponent parties holding the provincial government responsible for the deaths due to alleged medicines reaction. He said that it was not the time to politicise the issues, rather joint efforts were needed to overcome the crises.
