President Asif Ali Zardari has confirmed the nomination of four additional judges of the Lahore High Court as judges of the said high court.
The additional judges confirmed as judges of LHC are Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, Justice Mamoon Rashid Shaikh, Justice Muhammad Irfan Khan and Justice Syed Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi.
Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the confirmation for the nominations of these judges had been made by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. The nominations were subsequently unanimously confirmed by the Parliamentary Committee under clause 9 of Article 175 A of the Constitution on January 30th.
Finally on the advice of the Prime Minister, the President confirmed them as judges of the Lahore High Court, he said.
