First business train reached Karachi Cantt station 15 minute beyond schedule on Saturday.
The train which is a joint venture of Pakistan Railway and a private company left Lahore Railway station 5 minutes before schedule and reached Karachi Cantt station 15 minutes late Saturday.
Talking to journalists on arrival of first business train at Karachi, Railways GM Saeed Akhtar said investment had been made to the tune of Rs 220 million on this project. More 5 trains would be run in collaboration with private sector and one business train would run from February 15. More facilities would be provided to the passengers, he assured.
Pakistan Business Express Director Shafqat Ali said that train could accommodate 486 passengers and all the facilities including TV were available therein. Meal and breakfast would be served to the passengers free of cost, he added.
People said the ticket of this train was beyond their approach as it was fixed at Rs 5000 and the poor class of society even could not think of traveling by this train.

If the Railway needs money, this is the only option. Some of you people just like criticising for the sake of criticising. They are trying to complete with the aviation industry and have given a lucrative offer. You can pay half the price it takes to go between Karachi and Lahore and not worry about security/check-in. From the money they make off this they are hoping to get more Trains back on the rails, by making them semi-private. It has to start from somewhere. Stop complaining if you have nothing good to say, keep your mouth shut.
You cannot run pakistan in a feudal fashion by just saying to keep our mouth shut .Who will run trains for the millions of poor people of pakistan? Like a wadera it is not possible to turn a blind eye to the plight of the poor and tell people to shut up. The fast and slow trains were all running successfully in pak a few years back ,Who will manage the railway lands commercially? Who will bring back frieght traffic back to PR ? Who will bring back the maufacturing ability of PR ?Who will stop your corrupt governments from dismantling railway tracks in sindh and baluchistan and suspenidng railways services thereby affecting logsitics ? Answer these questions and then everyone will shut up.
i think they are mad.in these situations in which it is extremely difficult for poor people to buy food, they are giving the facility of business train and thinking that it will help poor people. How foolish it is. Even average class cannot think of traveling in it.
Please make this train for the mass public and for common man with affordable prices. And plan a new and the entire railway system for the country. This is one good step towards fixing the entire train system in Pakistan.
In Pakistan we tend to have mentality of one system for poor people and one for richer/VIP. That goes for everything, education, health services
i.e. gov' public schools for poor, private English schools for rich and madrasa for another class.
When new government comes in, they must plan for one system for the public in education, health services, transportation and so on…
A luxury train only for elite class….The poor people can not think of travelling in this train.But a positive step for rehabilitation of Pakistan Railway.

wat u guys talking abt its not for the poor ppl for the business class thts why its known as the business express….i think its the gud initiative…i think in future probably private sector would also launch trains for lower classes
Good start. I hope it will strengthen the Railway and will attract business community in investing in this sector. The other trains should be refurbished and must put on tracks so that the common people may beneficial.
Please please keek away from the Bilour brotheraan as they are the leecher of the system. After sucking billions of rupees, the bilour face look like (need comments from the public)
But still better to travel by air since rail ticket is way too expensive to travel. I don't understand why thy started business trainers when businessman travels by air to save more time than traveling by train…. It's just out of question mark!!!!!!

This train was renovated by railway workers, WELDON, can't we give some incentive (RISHWAT)to our rail minister to make all trains like this and make their time table like this train.if not than better leave this ministry.you had enough of it.
