LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed claimed on Monday that the corrupt politicians were in pursuit to curtail judiciary to restrict every voice raised for the betterment of the people of the country.
Ahsan said that the country was passing through severe crisis as almost every institution was depreciating owing to the corruption of the current government that was only striving to ensure its rule while the Supreme Court was over burdened with the corruption cases filed against the government. He added that when the Supreme Court takes notice of the corruption, the rulers use delaying tactics and try to save their skin when inquired about these corruption cases by saying that cases were in the court so they could not comment.
Court is giving chances to these politicians to mend their ways to save the system but these politicians are even exploiting the Court’s sincere instructions, he added. He said that the country is facing gas crisis, electricity crisis, price hike, unemployment, increasing crime rate and other countless issues while these politicians are only observed to be somersaulting to ensure their own rule as welfare of the common man is not their priority.
He mentioned that these politicians claimed 19th amendment as their biggest achievement in which the powers of judiciary were curtailed by giving the authority to notorious corrupt politicians to appoint judges. He said in current scenario judiciary is the only institution which is taking steps for the betterment of the poor masses. He mentioned that people of Pakistan are desperate for accountability of the corrupt politicians and if these politicians restrict the powers of judiciary, more incidents in which people take justice in their own hands will be observed.
He added that movement of independence of judiciary was an indigenous movement of the lawyers and the masses supported it to ensure the independent judiciary and are still standing along with judiciary for rule of law. He welcomed Justice Wajih-ud-din’s induction in PTI and expressed his deep regards to him for his efforts for the restoration of judiciary.
