FUI holds exhibition at Rawalpindi Arts Council

An art exhibition, displaying creative work of the students of Foundation University Islamabad (FUI), was organised at the Rawalpindi Arts Council on Tuesday.FUI Rector Prof Dr Belal A Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by FUI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Principal Prof Dr Maqsud Alam Bukhari. Several eminent artists, FUI faculty members and art lovers from the twin cities visited the exhibition and praised the artwork of the FUI students.
Dr Belal A Khan appreciated the efforts of the faculty members in encouraging the talented young artists and providing them an opportunity to portray their skills and instilling in them the spirit of innovation. “We create stimulating environment for our students so as to get the best out of them and develop them as artists and designers with a competitive spirit,” he said. He said that the Department of Arts and Design was launched in 2005 at the University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. “This year we are exhibiting the work of MFA Graphic Design students and the main idea is to showcase to the advertising community of twin cities the quality of the students we are producing,” he added. The rector said, “Some designers explore ideas using pencil and paper while others use many other mark-making tools, from computers to sculptures.”
