The Roots School System (RSS) on Saturday celebrated its Open Day on the theme of story-telling and puppetry, said a press release. The RSS Open Days symbolise its philosophy of being the ‘Home of Creativity, Love and Joy’. The objective of the day was to preserve the arts of story-telling and puppetry and enliven it for children. Each student chose his/her favourite story and prepared characters cut outs on sticks and later came up on the stage to narrate his/her story using the character cut outs. The three best students were awarded with certificates. The students were given pictures and asked to construct a story based on group discussions, which helped them in learning about teams and presenting ideas. The young rootsians were enthralled by the treasure quest, where they had to find the entire story through a treasure map, which showed the exact location of all the cards, with clues written on cards that lead to the next card.
