The Supreme Court would hear the memo case on January 30 in which it is expected to decide on whether it would grant more time to the judicial commission formed to investigate the Memogate scandal.
The commission, which was constituted by the apex court and is being headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Issa, had been granted a four-week time period to complete its probe.
So far, the commission has had four meetings; however, it has not been able to complete its work due to Mansoor Ijaz’s refusal to come to Pakistan to testify before it.
The commission has, however, again summoned the US-based Pakistani businessman on February 9.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court (SC) has been moved to extend the time frame designated to the three-member Memogate commission mandated to investigate the alleged memorandum to the US government widely seen as a threat to national security.
The Secretary Commission has filed the petition seeking more time as the work is unlikely to be accomplished within the court-fixed deadline.

  1. Kayani & Pasha got what they wanted. Target was Haqqani. Now, nobody seems to be interested. Memo was a reality to the extent that it was emailed by Mansoor Ijaz to Jones. It had no link with any Pakistani. All accompanying sensationalism was malafide.
