Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that people has been imported from Miranshah and Gilgit to create lawlessness in Karachi, declaring it a well-conceived /executed conspiracy.
Talking to media in Pir Goth, he expressed his great concern over targeting of lawyers in the city, and said that since lawyers litigated over a vast variety of cases, it was difficult to ascertain the exact cause of this latest mysterious mayhem.
He also denied any personal enmity with Mansoor Ejaz of Memogate scandal and assured of government’s full compliance with all verdicts, directives of Supreme Court, commissions.
The minister also lambasted the inefficiency of CPLC and relevant institutions for releasing his personal NIC details to outsiders, informing that NIC had its own mechanical system, which had been misused.
He also regretted the fact that the private TV channel engineered the entire episode without taking others into confidence. “However elements involved in violation of law would be severely punished for their illegal stance”, he added.
Referring to question of NATO supplies, he said the issue had been left to the parliament, and assured that no steps against the aspirations of masses would be taken. He said that Supreme Court had also issued its directives, which were being implemented.
Replying to a question, he informed that he also intended to convey the good wishes of PM, rather than those of president, and declaring that PML-F’s recommendations regarding Senate elections would be adhered to, said that PPPP enjoyed good relations with late Pir Pagara.
On the occasion, he also announced the opening of a NADRA and passport office in Pir Goth.
He also announced that Senate elections, scheduled for March 2012 had created quite a ripple in political affairs of the country, to be followed by general elections in 2013.
