QUETTA – Machineries of five gas wells in Sui area of Dera Bugti district were blown up with explosives on Sunday, with the Baloch Republican Army claiming responsibility for the attack.
Reports from Sui said miscreants planted explosives near wells number 24, 34, 43, 82 and 83 and detonated them at 2am. As a result, the machinery attached to the wells was badly damaged.
However, the explosion did not lead to gas leakage and the underground safety valves prevented the lines from catching fire catch.
Meanwhile, Sarbaz Baloch, a spokesman of the Baloch Republican Army, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying all foreigners, including the Chinese, should avoid investing in Balochistan.
He said those who defied the instructions would be responsible for any action against them.
Also, unidentified men set government buildings on fire in Awaran and Kechh districts. The assailants torched the district government office in Awaran and the office of executive district officer in Turbat town of Kechh.
