Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that ban on objectionable music concerts has been imposed in private and government educational institutions across the province, however concerts relating to routine educational activities are not included in the ban.
Talking to media persons outside Punjab Assembly here on Wednesday, Rana Sanaullah said that the unanimous resolution passed by the provincial assembly includes the word “objectionable,” which reveals that ban was limited to only concerts which have negative affects on educational activities and students minds.
He said that some opponents were politicizing the issue but the matter was clear enough and did not need further clarification.
It should be mentioned that the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution tabled by MPA Seemal Kamran, demanding a complete ban on ‘objectionable musical concerts’ in all the government and private educational institutions of the province.
Commenting on the Memogate scandal, Sana said that US-based Pakistani businessman Mansoor Ijaz was forced to avoid visiting Pakistan by the government which used various tactics, including the possibility of putting his name on Exit Control List (ECL) and lodging cases against him under different sections.
He said that the attitude adopted by government towards Mansoor Ijaz exposed the real face of PPP before the masses as it seems terrified of the evidences against party leadership.
